We went to the local conservation area this afternoon. The woods are about 200 years old so it is still a young forest. It provides a good safe sanctuary for a variety of wild life and also an ideal getaway for the locals. It is within a walking distance from our home and we always enjoy a walk down to the woods. So far (touch wood, literally) it is a safe place to walk as long as we walk in a group and in daylight . However I can't say if there is anything spooky or dangerous outside the track. Unfortunately, for unknown reasons we noticed today a few trees have been fallen down. I suppose it is to provide more room for other trees to grow healthier or these trees my have been suffering diseases and starting to decay and potentially hazardous of falling down accidentally.
I always like trees. There is something special about them as if there is a hidden wisdom unexplored by the human beings. Some may think if you listen carefully, the trees may whisper to each other. Mystical and yet exciting!
Anyway, for the past four days, we have been enjoying our holiday. We have done absolutely nothing apart from enjoying family time with Helena. We had a nice break and restored our energy and sanity.
