The solitude of midnight on call:loneliness

Day in and day out, we are all so blinded by our life routine that sometimes we forget to look at the scenery around our lives. The stars, the sun and the moon. The tender embrace of the wind. The patterns of your own breathing and heart beating. Even the presence of others who really care about you. These other people may or may not be those you prefer!
Loneliness is a feeling when one does not feel the presence of the other apart from self, perharps a longing for the company of others so that one should not feel cold and unwanted anymore.
Closing your eyes, concentrating on the flow of your own mind, see where it leads you to and feel. Suddenly you would feel the joy of being alive! After joy comes the gratitude of being alive. A gift of being alive which has been given freely, out of unconditional love. After gratitude comes the forgiveness, to forgive your past and even others who have had hurt you. After forgiveness comes the hope and love.
Before you know it, loneliness is not so important afterall. In fact, once you appreciate the presence of others who you try to love, forgive and accept, you don't feel lonely anymore. So, instead of asking why me, why are there so much suffering, so much pain, so much misfortunes, may be we should ask how we are going to carry on appreciating, thanking, loving, forgiving and accepting.
Knowing all this, the old grumpy critical and sharp minded 'me' still lives but a more relaxed and more real 'me' has become. Being on call at night is no longer an agony to bear, but just a little inconvenience to cope with!
I do find it entertaining that some artists/writers have managed to glorify the solitude of loneliness in their master pieces and made themselves famous world wide as a result of the misery of their loneliness. May be they are now not lonely anymore by trading off their lonelinees in art/writing. For mere common mortals like me would have to remind myself that by giving my own self then I will not have the 'self' to worry about. So get on with it and move on.
